• The staff recommendations are one of the most charming aspects of The Book Cellar, an independent bookstore tucked beside other boutiques and restaurants in Lincoln Square. Little slips of paper on which the staff have written thoughtful suggestions are stuck to almost every shelf, and they give the impression that The Book Cellar really wants to help customers find a book they will fall in love with. Like many bookstores, this one has a café. Aside from snacks and drinks from the coffee bar, The Book Cellar also serves wine and beer. The café tables and chairs are rearranged several times a month to make space for readings, book clubs, and other literary events.
