Description:

  • The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millenium Park has always been a hot destination for winter skaters, but its downtown location makes accessing difficult, especially for those living outside of the city's Loop. Now North Siders don't have far to go if they want to lace up their skates and take a few laps. In 2009, the Chicago Park District opened a new rink for the winter season just in the shadow of Wrigley Field. The rink is small, but it is convenient for those who live in the area and might be toting small children along. The Addison subway stop is close by, and free parking is also available. -Betsy Mikel
