There is lots to see in Chicago. From your hotel you can walk up and down Michigan Ave. If you walk all the way east, you will hit the beach, which is worth seeing, even in the winter. Also on Michigan Ave is the Hancock Tower which I highly recommend checking out. You can go to the top and take a tour where you get some pretty cool views of the city. Similary, you can walk to the Sears (Willis) tower and go to the top for a view as well. You can also walk to Navy Peer which is fun to see, but very children focused. If you want to see live blues music, Blue Chicago is within walking distance and is a fun outing in the evening. I hope this is helpful!
