  • It's almost a silly question to ask, what's the best nightlife in Chichen Itza, because no one comes to this place for nightlife. The restored Mayan city of Chichen Itza is the reason visitors make the trek to this central Yucatan Peninsula location.

The Sound and Light Show at Chichen Itza is the nighttime activity that is most popular with visitors. This is a slightly kitschy but nevertheless entertaining spectacle in which colored lights are projected onto the impressive buildings of the archeological site. Booming music and portentous narration accompany the kaleidoscope.

The bar at the Hotel Mayaland stays open until at least 10:00 pm and visitors from all the area hotels gather there to watch sports on two large, flat-screen TVs while enjoying cocktails, beer, and wine accompanied by light fare.
