Description:
Also situated in the stunning Jao Concession area (to the northwest of Moremi Game Reserve), this camp features five tree house chalets built on stilts under thatched roofs and linked by raised walkways. Designed similarly to Jao (although far less ostentatiously), Kwetsani is much smaller and enjoys an intimate, relaxed atmosphere; dedicated guides make exploration of the varied terrain memorable, and besides mokoro and boat trips, night drives are available. Built on a heavily wooded island with mangosteen and fig trees, it is particularly beautiful from May to September, when the water levels are at their highest, but the game-viewing is best from October to April, when the flood plains are drier. Guests who want a "rougher" bush experience can book a night in an animal hide at nearby Jao camp. Note: Jao Concession is so beautiful that all its camps are worth a look. Aside from Jao and Kwetsani, there are also Jacana Camp -- comfortable, small, and in a great location overlooking the floodplains -- and Tubu Tree Camp, with equally beautiful views, stylish tents on raised stilts, plunge pool, and more; both cost the same as Kwetsani. (All camps in the Jao concession belong to Wilderness Safaris.)
