Plaza de la Concordia

  • Type: Landmarks
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Is customary to sit on the covered sidewalks to drink have a clamato and just enjoy the sight of the square itself and the pyramid behind it.

  • Description:

    • This square's location, also known as San Pedro Cholula's Zocalo, is where a brutal mass killing of indigenous people was committed by the Spanish Colonizers.  During the Colonial period, this is where the tianguis (street market), the celebrations and the bullfighting took place.
Today is a beautiful square surrounded by beautiful buildings, Portales and green areas.
Don't forget to walk along the Portales (the coverd sidewalk), the longest in America.
