Gongjicheon

Description:

  • When you enter the city from Seoul, this is the first place you'll see. The area includes the scenic lake Uiam-ho and the outdoor sculpture garden Jogak Park. A small bridge, Dohojugyo, is made from wooden planks placed on old boats that sway a bit when you cross it. You can rent a bicycle for W3,000 ($3.25/£1.60) per hour, or W5,000 ($5.40/£2.70) for a tandem, and ride along the road surrounded by white fencing.

Near the sculpture park is Gongjicheon Resort, where you can rent a boat or enjoy a number of cultural events and performances on the outdoor stage, near the fountain.
