- Take evening beach walks and learn about Florida's exotic birds at the Florida Birding Festival and Nature Expo, one of the largest birding events in the U.S. Noted birding experts hold seminars, and kids can learn to build a birdhouse. The butterfly tent is a great photo opportunity, with hundreds of the delicate creatures. A count of migrating species in the area is taken during the festival, which draws hosts of enthusiastic birders. Proceeds benefit the Pinellas County Environmental Foundation.
