Although probably not famous for a particular type of food (except, perhaps, for pierogis), Cleveland has a delicious assortment of restaurants. Instead of by type, we'll break down Cleveland's fine dining options by neighborhood.
Lola is located in downtown Cleveland, along with its sister restaurant, Lolita (which is located in the West Side neighborhood of Tremont,) Lola is one of the finest dining options in Cleveland. Other highly-rated choices downtown include Blue Point Grill Cleveland's premier seafood restaurant, and XO Prime Steaks, both in the Warehouse District. The Greenhouse Tavern, located on East 4th Street, is Cleveland's first green-certified restaurant. Table 45, which is in InterContinental Hotel and next to the Cleveland Clinic, is also a popular choice.
The neighborhoods of Cleveland's West Side have some of the best restaurants in Cleveland. If you find yourself in the Ohio City neighborhood, try Bar Cento, a wine bar across the street from the West Side Market, or The Flying Fig, an innovative and tasty eatery. Melt Bar and Grilled, which specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches, and Johnny Mango World, which has healthy dining options and a great bar, are other wonderful choices.
Should you find yourself in University Circle after listening to the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall, touring Case Western Reserve University, or visiting the numerous museums in the neighborhood, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. L'Albotros is a sophisticated French brasserie and bar which is easy on the wallet. Located nearby, in the Glidden House Inn's carriage house, Sergio's offers a wonderful combination of French and Italian foods and flavors.
In Shaker Square, Brazilian restaurant Sarava - which boasts live music and a seafood raw bar - is purportedly a favorite of Cleveland Cavaliers player, Anderson Varejao. Also nearby are award-winning Fire Food & Drink and Hungarian restaurant, Balaton.
If you're hungry while checking out Coventry village in Cleveland Heights, sit down for some flavorful Thai food at Mint Café, or grab a milkshake or a hearty breakfast at Tommy's Restaurant.
