Getting There

By Train -- The Cochem Bahnhof is on the Wasserbillig-Trier-Koblenz rail line, with frequent service between these connecting cities. For information, call tel. 01805/996633 (11861 in Germany; www.bahn.de).

By Bus -- Regional bus service along the Mosel is provided by RMV Rhein Mosel Verkehrsgesellschaft (tel. 01805/7684636; www.rmv.de) and by Moselbahn, GmbH (tel. 06531/96800).

By Car -- Access is via the A48 Autobahn on the Koblenz-Trier express highway; exit either at Ulmen or at Kaisersesch.

By Boat -- Boat rides on the Mosel River operate between Trier and Cochem. Contact Gebrüder Kolb, Briedern/Mosel (tel. 02673/1515).

Visitor Information

For tourist information, contact the Verkehrsamt, Endertplatz 1 (tel. 02671/60040), open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm; from July to October, it is also open Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to noon.

Special Events

During the last week in May or the first week of June, Mosel-Wein-Woche begins, celebrating the region's wines with tasting booths and a street fair. A similar Weinfest takes place the last weekend of August. For information on either of these events, contact the tourist office or the Weingut Winzerhof (tel. 02671/7297) for details on dates, activities, and accommodations.
