Description:

  • A visit to this elegant 1930s mansion overlooking Otsego Lake, built on the site of James Fenimore Cooper's home, is a great way to spend an hour. Inside you'll find a revolving collection depicting local life, portraits of Cooper, a great collection of folk art, and examples of Hudson River School paintings. The real treasure is in the collection of Native American art, a section of the museum added in 1995. You'll see masks, sculptures, bows and arrows, headdresses, moccasins, and gorgeous beadwork from tribes all over America.
