• Risteriet or "the roaster" is a small yet well-known cafe amongst Copenhagen's coffee enthusiasts for its strong, rich-tasting coffee at fairly reasonable prices. From the rather cramped premises on Studiestræde in the city's hip Latin Quarter, this is the place to go if you know your Columbian blend from your Kenyan coffee beans. Regulars to the shop include many students with classes at the nearby campus, who particularly appreciate Risteriet's "clipcard" system of paying for coffee, making the price of a cup less than DKK 10 and one of the cheapest in the quarter. In addition to the large selection of coffees available to go or to drink inside, it's also possible to buy whole coffee beans at the "bean bar", fresh-ground coffee and even the best coffee makers on the market (DKK 3000 a time) to take home. All coffee here has - naturally – been newly-roasted and freshly-ground on the premises.
