• Just opened in spring 2011, this brand-new 'concept bar' in the heart of old Copenhagen aims at being the country's first cooperative nightclub, offering customers the chance to buy a stake in the bar for DKK 1,000. Bartenders—who also have stakes in the business—must be socially engaged, as they receive one-fifth of the bar's profits to oversee projects in developing countries of their own choosing. Student discounts with valid cards, particularly on Fridays. The club plans regular live music nights, though it's still a little too early to know if Compass Bar will live up to its noble hopes.
