- Republique opened this summer, 2009, in Østerbro in the premises of what was previously Kanonhallen and Dansescenen, the latter having now moved to DANSEhallerne. In keeping with what has been before on these stages, artistic leader Martin Tulinius hopes to continue showcasing both domestic and international artists, with much of the work experimental and installative in nature. A far cry from the traditional variety shows and musicals offered by the city's other theaters, Republique promises those who are interested in live art and performance somewhere to check out.
