NileGuide Expert tip:
Try taking a stroll here from Nyhavn or Langelinie - the oak footbridge connects the Playhouse with both waterfronts.
The Playhouse of the Royal Danish Theatre was officially opened in 2008, and saw the move of almost all the theatre's dramatic performances from the old building on Kongens Nytorv down to the new, custom-designed stage on the waterfront - almost directly opposite the Opera House. While almost all the performances here are in Danish, it is still worth a look around if you are at all interested in architecture, and the building's cafe and restaurant, Ofelia, offers great views and a tempting menu.
