  • Those looking for a good steak restaurant in Copenhagen will find a broad variety of steakhouses that range from American-style diners and surf 'n' turf-style grills to more traditional European eateries and Denmark-wide chains; you could even sample one of the city's two Argentinean restaurants.

Top of our list is the trendy American-style steakhouse MASH: Short for Modern American Steak House, MASH hasn't lost any of its chic since opening in 2009.

Few would argue that the best steaks in the world come from Argentina, and while neither stylish Argentinean restaurant Fuego nor its follow-up Asador in Christianshavn like to be described as ' just another steakhouse', it's the prime South American beef that takes center stage on the menu card.

In the same neighborhood and even more swanky is the Terence Conran-owned Custom House Bar & Grill, with its large grill the centerpiece of the open kitchen.

Those who prefer a prime cut of beef not to be outshadowed by trendy interiors might prefer a more traditional place. Delightful central square Gråbrødretorv offers two such spots: Restaurant Peder Oxe has been immensely popular with tourists for decades, while Bøf & Ost gives a more French twist to the steak.

Two of our favorite steak restaurants belong to nationwide chains: A Hereford Beefstouw offers top-quality, Danish-style beefy meals while the more budget-conscious Jensen's Bøfhus may not have the frills, but the lunch specials are particularly good value and families are especially welcome.
