  • Copenhagen's hotels are as family-friendly as everything else about this city. Many can offer spacious family rooms that will easily sleep four, while others are happy to provide an extra bed or crib upon request. Children's menus (and half-price breakfasts) are the standard in hotel restaurants, as are high chairs and changing tables.

    Traveling as a family means traveling on a tight budget, which is why most of the lodging options in our top 5 have been chosen for their cheap rates and large rooms. There's even room for larger families at top-listed Danhostel Copenhagen City, which offers low-priced rooms sleeping up to six, while Hotel Copenhagen offers low-cost rooms for four as well as apartments. At modern budget hotel Wakeup Copenhagen, it's possible to choose between one four-bed family room or two adjoining twin/ double rooms with interconnecting doors.

    Other hotels make it into our list by offering a little extra: The Scandic hotel chain that includes hotels Scandic Copenhagen and Hotel Front offers special-rated, separate rooms for teenagers when accompanied by adults, as well as a play area just for the kids.

    At Avenue Hotel, well-sized family rooms are available sleeping up to four, and kids' bikes are available to loan—there's even a sand pit to play in on the hotel's patio. Hotel DGI-Byen ups the stakes by being located inside a sports complex that offers kids their own multicenter and no less than five indoor swimming pools. The new Tivoli Hotel puts a unique angle to boutique hotels, with many of its numerous family rooms decorated in a different fairground theme; And of course, the hotel offers free entry to Tivoli Gardens with its room packages.
