If you prefer a lively atmosphere to snooty waiting staff and quirky decor to minimalist interiors, you want Copenhagen's fun restaurants. Just because the Danish capital has a reputation for gourmet cuisine doesn't mean dining here has to be taken too seriously-instead, here is a selection of eateries where you can really enjoy yourself.
Even been to a dolls' tea party? Copenhagen's most fun restaurant is the Royal Cafe, a kitsch cafe next door to the Royal Copenhagen store where the doll size portions of dainty food are served on royal blue porcelain and the decor is bright and colorful.
Everyone likes to make their own burgers, right? At Halifax, you can choose everything about your burger, from the choice of meat (or vegetarian alternative) and toppings to the side orders-and the menu, with names like ' Liverpool' and ' Zurich', is wildly imaginative. Not featured on our list but worth a mention is diner Chili, where the carousel of dips is almost as memorable as the burger.
Hardly surprisingly, Tivoli Gardens is filled with fun restaurants, but we've selected noodle bar Wagamama for its reasonable prices, quick service and healthy range of wok and noodle dishes. With one entrance on the restaurant's road side, Wagamama is also open outside of Tivoli season.
If you find that dining is so much more fun when there's something to look at, check out neighborhood cafe Bankeråt: You can't help noticing the amazing animal sculptures found all over the small locale. Long-standing burger restaurant Sporvejen, meanwhile, is made from the interior of a decommissioned tram.
Fun restaurants should be lively, which is why Latin restaurant and club Barbarellah is on our list, a late-night dining option with an inhouse DJ, small dancefloor and cocktail bar. Flamboyant Italian spot Il Peccato, meanwhile, is large enough for a special occasion-and a great place to watch the exuberant cooks do their thing in the open kitchen.
