• You don't have to be gay to stay here, but it's expected that guests appreciate the finer things in life – like bathing sailor frescos in the shared bathrooms, Greek-style statues in the hallways and partying until the early hours on Saturday nights. In a prime downtown location between the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek and Langebro Bridge, Carsten's Guest House is surprisingly large and has 10 guest rooms on offer, from singles and doubles to three-bed and four-bed suites, each one decorated in its own distinct yet pleasant and modern design. There is also a dorm room, or "back pack room", as it has come to be known, where like-minded travelers can meet and share stories in a much more laid-back alternative to traditional hostels. Other facilities include the "music lounge," a kind of pre-party chill-out room, especially on Saturday nights, where smoking is allowed – it is not permitted in the bedrooms. There is also a guest kitchen and a sun terrace, where many guests spend a great deal of their visit. There are also separate two-person studio apartments offered at a different, though equally central, address; a discount on weekdays in November-Feb is available for these.
