If you don't mind being housed outside the historic core, this chain-run hotel from 1989 is the best in town if you like modern decor and good facilities. If you're seeking a more romantic atmosphere, head for Svogerslev Kro. Rooms are average size, typically furnished, and very comfortable, with medium-size bathrooms. The hotel also has a good restaurant serving Danish and international dishes, plus a bar. It's on the ring road less than a kilometer (1/2 mile) south of the green belt, Roskilde Ring, on the southern outskirts of the city.
