Description:

FIAT stands for 'Fondazone Italiana Alimentari Totale', and if that seems a little pretentious, it's merely an appetizer for the smarty-pants design of this swanky Italian trattoria that opened in 2007, squeezed between similarly trendy Quote and Geist on the far side of Kongens Nytorv square. FIAT is owned by restaurant king Torben Olsen, whose empire also includes upscale cafes Victor and neighbor Quote. The narrow exterior opens into an expansive dining area inside, dominated by a huge vintage clock on the far wall, as well as extra seating in the basement. Both a la carte and set menus are available for lunch as well as dinner, with a 3-course menu priced at DKK 375 and traditional Italian dishes like antipasti, authentic stone-baked pizzas, pasta and mains that include leg of rabbit with polenta. The restaurant also holds regular wine-tasting sessions and offers take away pasta and pizza.
