- Much hype has preceded the opening of Claus Meyer's Restaurant Radio in the former concert hall and studios of national broadcaster DR's Radiohuset, on the edge of Frederiksberg. Close neighbor to Forum Metro Station, the restaurant has played on the original decor of the building, retaining its dark wood and monochrome hues in a design that blends urban with rustic. It's fresh but not fancy, with wooden tables free of tablecloths and a seasonal, vegetable-rich menu comprised of local produce sourced from owner Claus Meyer's own organic fields and farms—or those of farmers with whom he has built up a close working relationship. With 'Radio' Meyer, also owner of a chain of delis, a bakery and co-owner of award-winning noma, hopes—together with the restaurant's two young chefs—to continue the Nordic food revolution with unique dishes made from ancient grains, forest mushrooms and fresh Danish fruits. Prices are reasonable (3 courses for 300kr, lunch dishes from 100kr), but booking is essential, and currently weeks in advance.
