Description:

  • Tea Restaurant is quite a surprise in the dingy neighborhood around the Central Train Station. This rather overlooked Chinese restaurant seems pretty inauspicious from the outside, but inside it is tastefully decorated in a mix of cream, black and bamboo, illustrating that this a place where more tasteful surroundings and well-presented food doesn't necessarily mean spending a fortune (most mains cost around DKK 120). This eatery stands out from its peers with an authentic, traditional menu of freshly-made dishes – there are no buffets here. As the name suggests, it is customary to drink tea with Chinese food, and there's plenty here to choose from, but there is also beer, wine and soft drinks on the menu. Peking duck is a restaurant specialty, and the cook took a special trip to China to learn to prepare it properly, including not just the pancakes and the hoi-sin sauce but also the correct to tea to accompany the dish.
