Description:

  • Some eight miles from downtown Copenhagen, on the south-east corner of Amager islands lies this pretty fishing village that makes an ideal daytrip, either by bus, car or by cycle. Though Dragør's history can be traced back as far as the 1200s, most of its buildings date from the 17th century. The town grew up around the fishing industry, and it is clear that fishing is still an important part of the town's life. Take a walk along the pretty cobblestoned streets and yellow-painted houses, browse the quaint stores that also open on Sundays on holidays in the summer and check out the town's museum. Don't miss out on a taste of freshly-caught fish - either in one of the town's restaurants or fresh from the harbor to take home with you.
