Københavns Havnebad

• It may seem incredible that a capital city has a harbor clean enough to swim in, but for Copenhagen, that is the case. The harbor bathing area 'Havenbad' is an architecturally-designed, city-council dream-come-true, that involved completely cleaning and renovating the once polluted and industrial harbor area into a recreational hotspot for the city's visitors and residents alike, particularly in the summer. There are five pools, two of which are reserved for children - one for the very small, the other for those a little older - along with two more adult-oriented swimming pools and one diving pool. The baths are open every day during the summer months of June, July and August from 11am-7pm and it's completely free to use the facilities. Life guards are on duty at all times.
