  • NileGuide Expert Says:

A living museum that's far from stuffy.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Families should check out the hands-on children's wing.

    Description:

    • Housed in an imposing 18th century mansion behind Copenhagen's City Hall, Denmark's National Museum charts the history of the nation, from prehistory right up to present day – allowing visitors to view not only Viking and medieval artifacts, but also the minute details of a 1970s sitting room. There are also smaller exhibitions taken from other cultures, and – as with other Danish museums – a children's section offering plenty of hands-on learning. Entry is free throughout the museum.
