Description:
You'll eat one of your best meals in Córdoba at this local favorite, on a narrow cobblestone street in a residential neighborhood 10 minutes from the Mezquita. In front is one of Córdoba's hippest and most crowded tapas bars. It's filled with attractive singles -- some more interested in the scene than the food. Bodegas Campos has a welcoming rustic atmosphere and has been going strong since 1908 as both a wine cellar (bodega) and a tavern. The well-chosen menu, prepared from fresh ingredients, consists of local fare like salt cod salad with orange dressing, frituritas de la casa con salmorejo (tiny fried fish served with thick Andalusian gazpacho), and escabeche de perdiz (pickled pieces of partridge). Other specialties are merluza rellena con verduritas (hake stuffed with julienne vegetables) and an Iberian pig's cheek casserole.
