Finding yourself in the presence of a rushing waterfall is an experience not to be forgotten, and if you dip into the refreshing pools or swim between the cascade and cliffside, it's even more invigorating, stimulating, and exciting. To get to the Volio Waterfalls just outside of Puerto Viejo, find a trusty cab driver or local transportation provider, and ask to be whisked up to the BriBri, or Volio, waterfall. It's not always easy to get to, since once you disembark from the taxi, it requires fording rivers and a brief trek to reach, but the 60 foot falls will take your breath away. Small paths lead to fantastic views, diving points, and untouched rainforest. Locals frequent this fun get-away, so you might find yourself lost in the company of fellow waterfall seekers, or nearly alone in the wilderness.
