Converted from a 16th-century Renaissance residence and retaining many original features, this member of Relais & Châteaux is in the heart of the village. The guest rooms, decorated in sophisticated Provençal style, have sumptuous beds and midsize bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. One woman wrote us that while sitting on the balcony of room no. 30 she understood why Renoir, Léger, Matisse, and Picasso were inspired by Provence. Many rooms enjoy a view of the valley with the Mediterranean in the distance. The restaurant has a flower-bedecked terrace sheltered by the 16th-century ramparts and a superb dining room with vaulted ceilings.
