Description:

  • Pascua begins on Domingo de Gloria (Easter Sunday) and is a time for celebration: bells ring out, streets are filled with colorful banners and the altars at both Iglesia de San Miguel and Iglesia de Corpus Christi are decorated with flowers. On Easter Sunday there are processions to the churches and afterwards the children gather in Plaza Central for the breaking of cascarones (colored eggshells filled with confetti) over the heads of friends and family. There will be carnivals and fairs throughout the week to celebrate. Most of Mexico goes on vacation during this time.
