I have been around a lot of beaches in Mexico and I can tell you the most beautiful ones are at Tulum, Quintana Roo, and fortunately those are not too turistic yet. You can find very small 5 stars hotels or if you are looking for a wilder experience you can find small bungalows in the rainforest with beachfront for a really cheap price but in those places they cut down the energy supply at 10pm to respect the darkness and quiteness of the nature.
Looking for something wiht not a lot of people but not as small as Tulum?? then the place is Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca
surfer's paradise.

I really recomend coming to Cozumel specially after high season, we have great beaches and if you do some scuba this is the best place to do it. If your not into people then avoid coming in december and janury but the rest of the year is great.

Try Cabo,Puerto Escondido,Cozumel,Tulum or even Isla Mujeres(its a quiet island)

Without question...Tulum has the best beaches.

Try Zipolite: a freaky place with many backpackers and everything the alternative mind could request and try Puerto Escondido: a surfers paradise. Both are not too run over (compared to Cancun and the other non-mexican, tourist US territories) and you can still get a taste of the mexican people there.

Hi,
My wife and I have been visiting the Yucatan and other areas of Mexico including the pacific and baja areas for many years. We have been to many beaches during that time. If you are looking for the crystal clear blue waters and wide white sandy beaches, Tulum, Mexico is the best. We live here now! The beaches in Tulum are consistently rated in the top 5 in the world and the area still maintains it's Mexican charm, its about a 2 hour drive south of the Cancun airport...far away from the high rise hotels of Cancun and the hustle and bustle of Playa del Carmen. Good luck, we'll see you here soon! If you are looking for places to stay in Tulum try this link. http://www.beyondcancun.com/hotproperty/property/tulum-hotels/

If you're looking for a "virgin" beach you should try Mazunte, Saladita, Chacagua, Michigan or Playa Paraiso, if youre looking for something just not too filled with tourists go to Cozumel, or Puerto Escondido. In my personal opinion, Playa del Carmen is Mexico's best beach because it is small but also has everything you need in a very friendly and calm environment.

I have to tell you that beaches in Veracruz are beautiful, besides you can find museums, discos, and aquarium, a lot of culture and people are very warm and the weather as well.

Well I can help you with the ones in the Riviera Maya.
Look in 2004 in the international travelers guide the beach of maroma was awarded with the title of the 2nd best and most beautiful beach in the world, but that was before the hurricane Wilma, now… I would suggest to you to go and take a look at the beach at xpu-ha near the Barceló Mayan resort, over there about 5km after that resort there is an entry that is call La Playa, that one of my favorite, not that many people knows it but its really beautiful.
Then I can tell you that in Tulum there is a beach club called Ana y Jose that has one of the most fantastic beaches in the Riviera Maya.
And if you are going to stay in playa del Carmen you would definitely have to go to one that its called bluecacao, its 12km. north of playa del Carmen and it’s a beautiful privet beach with all the services and you would only find no more than 20 to 30 at that beach.

At the Pacific coast, Barra de Navidad bay (Jalisco) is also nice and just touristic enough to have a lot of fun. And if you like layback in a hammock with only fisherfolk preparing incredible seafood for you, I can also recommend Playa Paraiso and Chacahua (Guerrero)
