- Mama Africa is something of a legend in Cusco. A pioneer of the late night club scene, anyone who has traveled through Cusco in the last fifteen years has been to or at least heard of Mama Africa. This safari-themed club is decorated with animal print chairs, safari murals and elephant and lion sculptures, but chances are that you won't even notice the décor. The club is always dimly lit and packed full with lively individuals looking to dance until the sun rises. Though the drinks are expensive and sure to leave you wondering what happened to all your money in the morning, the atmosphere is simply fun and deserving of a night out. Open after 9:30pm until late, Mama Africa offers salsa lessons during the high season (stop by to see when) and happy hour is offered from 9-10pm and again from 11-12am.
