Description:
- El Ayllu has been serving up coffee, pastries and a light lunch fare for decades. Originally located in the Cusco Plaza de Armas, they were muscled out of their original location by larger corporations in 2009. Today, they have two locations located mere blocks from the plaza, and both continue to offer their usual fare in a no frills environment. Attracting a mature clientele, most of the patrons have been coming here for decades to listen to classical music while enjoying a light breakfast or lunch. Make sure to try their daily house pastries such as the apple pie or lengua de suegra (mother in laws tongue), a long pastry with a thin layer of dulce de leche in between flaky layers.
