Description:

Located in famed writer and historian El Inca Garcilaso de la Vega's childhood home, the Museo Histórico Regional portrays a comprehensive history of Peru from prehistoric times up until the republican era. Displays include an impressively preserved mummy, pre-Colombian ceramics, vivid murals, dioramas, videos, statues and paintings. Comprehensive and colorful, this is a great museum to visit with children. Located in the Plaza de Regocijo, a block from the main Plaza de Armas, entry into the museum is included in the Cuscotourist ticket (Boleta Turistico General). Open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 7pm.
