A good night out; who doesn't need one? Here in Dalian the beach and city collide to offer an astounding array of choices once the sun goes down. With most major events hosted in Xinghai Square, make sure to check your travel dates against the dates of local celebrations. Chinese New Year is the top festival of the area, and if you're in Dalian for this festival, hold on to your hat! The Chinese can ring in the New Year like no other! The International Fashion Festival is not to be missed, with performers, musicians and designers abound. If your trip doesn't collide with any festivals, start out slow at the Alice Club, the number-one dance spot for foreigners. Here you can meet fellow travelers and compare sightseeing notes. For a local crowd, check out Hopscotch, a great bar with a solid crowd looking to have a good time. Another local favorite is the permanent festival that has moved into Changijang Street. The Tianjin night market is a sight worth seeing, and the street food is fantastic.
