  • Dallas is a large cosmopolitan city that's displayed through its diversity of restaurants. Well known for sizzling Texas-sized steaks and mouth-watering beef brisket, Dallas offers up some of the best down home barbecue in all of Texas. Dallas is home to Bob's Steak and Chophouse, consistently ranked as one of the top steakhouses in the country.

You'll find tasty Asian inspired cuisine in the trendy areas of Knox-Henderson and McKinney Avenue, soul food and Tex-Mex in Deep Ellum and the historical West End, and international cuisine in restaurants and bistros located in downtown Dallas.

Fresh seafood (cat fish, lobster, shrimp, crab, oysters) is abundant due to the location of Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill is Dallas' premiere seafood restaurant. While Southern hospitality home-cooking foods to try include fried chicken, Texas chili, plus anything and everything barbecued. For a memorable meal, you can't go wrong with Classic Café.

Dallas is home to Savor Dallas in March; Dallas Wine & Food Festival in April; Fort Worth Zoo Beastro Premier Tasting Event each June; Greek Food Festival in September and the Romanian Food Festival held in November.
