Description:

  • In 1786, a small group of Quakers traveled from Nantucket to set up a whaling station in Nova Scotia. They left behind what is now the oldest house in Dartmouth. The Quaker House has been  lovingly restored to its original decor and ready for visitors. Take the ferry across the harbor from Halifax and you are almost there; it's a very short walk. Each summer, tour guides in full costume will give you all the details. Admission is free but donations are welcomed.
