Description:

  • Constructed in 1889 to house a saloon operated by Jacob Weinhard, the nephew of Portland, Oregon, brewer Henry Weinhard, this brick building is now a comfortable, generally inexpensive Victorian inn. In the large lobby is a grand piano and, in one corner, board games and magazines. Guest rooms have high ceilings with overhead fans and at least one piece of antique furniture. The best room in the house has a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. Up on the roof, you'll find a terrace garden where you can enjoy an espresso.
