For those who want something different than the usual guided walking tours or bus excursions, Venice on the Creek offers an opportunity to float alongside and through Denver's history on a gondola-like punt. Their "candlelight" rides after 8:30 p.m. are the most romantic, but we think gondolas are romantic even during the daytime.
If romance and relaxation go hand-in-hand for you, then there is no better place than the spa at Brown Palace Hotel, where you can get a Couples Massage for you and your sweetheart.
Every weekend during the winter for the past 63 years, the Ski Train delights passengers on a two-hour ride that crosses under the continental divide and provides unmatched mountain scenery as it winds into the high country.
Seeing a performance or concert can be one of the most romantic activities, depending on the venue. The Denver Performing Arts Center encompasses several venues where you can see ballet, cabaret, and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The Paramount Theatre is another beautiful venue, elegantly decorated with silk tapestries, marble, and terra cotta, where you can see ballet, theatre, opera, and other music. Red Rocks Amphitheater is a totally different experience, but its natural beauty provides a rustic, romantic atmosphere as you watch the sunset behind the rocks.
If you'd rather go dancing than see dancing, the Mercury Café has swing, salsa, belly dancing, and nearly any other kind of dancing you can think of. For a more laid back experience, grab a drink at the Mayan Theater and watch an independent film while sipping your cocktail.
