Red Square Euro Bistro - Denver

  • Description:

    • After the Little Russian Café closed in 2003, its all-Russian staff reunited under owner Steve Ryan and opened Red Square. They did their old place one better, with a rich red interior, tucked-away patio, contemporary Russian art, and a vodka bar stocked with infusions made in-house (ranging from raspberry to garlic) and about 100 brands from 17 countries, including Russia, Holland, Poland, Sweden, and even Mexico. The excellent entrees are not purely Russian: The steak stroganoff has a salmon counterpart, the menu has Asian and French influences, and the appetizers include pâté and Dungeness crab ravioli. But there is borscht (cold in summer, hot in winter), a roasted Russian wild boar chop, and, of course, the vodka -- lots and lots of vodka.

      Fun place for drinks

    • I've never had dinner at Red Square, only drinks in the bar. The bar scene was pretty good. The vodka selection is huge and served very cold. While I liked the drinks, I was...

Message from Red Square Euro Bistro

Red Square Euro Bistro is staffed with the old crew of the Russian Cafe on Larimer Square. Equal parts contemporary European cooking and traditional Russian fare, the restaurant has developed some intriguing specialties. Long-time patrons of the Russian Cafe will again be able to savor the traditional Beef Stroganoff, Goulash and Vareniki that have become Denver favorites. Others will favor the new lighter, more European fare prepared by renowned chef Maxim Ionikh. The decor is an elegant combination of art deco furnishings and traditional Russian accents. The expanded floor plan includes several intimate eating areas: the main dining room--complete with fireplace--the upper dining area, a cozy lounge and a private VIP dining area that can comfortably seat 25. And, of course, a well-stocked vodka bar. The inclusive patio is an oasis in the middle of Downtown Denver.
