Denver Mint - Denver

  • Description:

    • Before Sept. 11, 2001, the U.S. Mint in Denver was known for long, long lines as visitors walked up and waited for regularly scheduled tours to begin. Things are a bit different now since reservations are required, but the 45-minute tours are still free and just as interesting. Visitors get a look at how the coins are made—from inception to striking. Guides also present related facts about other U.S. facilities along with historical anecdotes. The onsite gift shop is full of books, DVDs and games, as well as a variety of collectibles.
