Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Description:

  • The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has always lured fascinating temporary exhibitions—including Titanic treasures and Egyptian artifacts. But its permanent displays are intriguing as well, always interactive, educational and entertaining. Here, visitors can learn about space, wildlife, ancient mummies and other workings of the world. Discovery Zone keeps younger children occupied with hands-on activities that include dressing up like a dinosaur and digging for fossils. The gigantic-screened IMAX Theater is next door, as is Gates Planetarium for out-of-this-world views. The entire complex is located in central Denver's City Park with welcomed free parking…along with plenty of trees, ponds and terrific views of the Rocky Mountains.
