Description:

  • The Denver Zoo is continually improving itself as a home to 4,000 critters on 80 acres, on a mission to update habitats from mere enclosures into more natural, landscaped settings. Primate Panorama allows monkeys and apes to socialize on seven acres, and Predator Ridge mimics the African plains—full of dirt mounds 10 feet tall for lions to survey their domain. Exotic birds soar around the open aviary and visitors can buy nectar to feed free-flying hummingbirds. A number of interactive exhibits, along with public feedings, scheduled shows and demonstrations, both educate and entertain. Look for a number of "wild" parties throughout the year in a packed social calendar: Do at the Zoo after-hours gala, Brew at the Zoo beer tasting, and festive holiday Zoo Lights. A central-Denver location and convenient parking make any day here enjoyable and relaxing.
