Description:
- Revamped in 2005, formerly known as Ocean Journey and newly renamed Downtown Aquarium has won over Denver visitors. The facility sits on 18 acres, with 500 species of both lake and saltwater creatures on view, plus corresponding land critters that include three resident tigers. Visitors can safely touch stingrays and avoid the sharks at the beach exhibit, or pan for gold in the Northwest Experience display. Watch dive demonstrations, or take part in a "Swim with the Fish" adventure experience onsite—no dive certificate required. At Aquarium Restaurant, guests are seated around a 150,000-gallon aquarium with a variety of fascinating fishes swimming nearby (don't worry, they aren't slated for the menu).
