Description:

  • Eldorado Canyon State Park consists of two areas the Inner Canyon (developed area) and Crescent Meadows (undeveloped area). The park encompasses 885 acres with a variety of recreation opportunities available. It's a day-use area, open sunrise to sunset, that supports 42 developed picnic sites. The staff at the visitor center can help answer any questions you may have about the surrounding terrain and recreation facilities.

The biggest draw to Eldorado Canyon State Park is rock climbing. There are over 500 different climbing routes! Climbers come to Eldorados sandstone walls from around the globe. Trails pervade the park for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. (Be sure to check at the visitor center for specific trail information.) Anglers will enjoy the waters of South Boulder Creek during the Spring and Summer seasons. Sight seeing is always popular in this natural canyon setting.

The park entrance lies immediately west of Eldorado Springs on State Highway 170. To the west of Eldorado State Park is the Roosevelt National Forest and Colorado's Front Range.
