One of the country's largest bookstores, the locally beloved Tattered Cover moved to new digs on East Colfax Avenue in 2006 after more than 30 years in Cherry Creek. Taking over the old Lowenstein Theater, the store remains a bibliophile's paradise, with comprehensive selections on every subject and a design that incorporates elements of the old theater. Also in the development: Twist & Shout, Denver's top independent record store; an art-house movie theater with its own cocktail lounge; a restaurant, Encore; and a coffee shop.
