My husband and have a 12 hour overlay in Denver in May, we would like to see a little bit of denver but not go too far so as not to miss our flight. Is there somewhere nearby we can visit and a nice restaurant to have lunch?

If you would like to stay in the city, you can visit the 16th street Mall downtown. It's an interesting, multi-level mall with many shops and it's very walkable. For restaurants, I suggest "Arada Restaurant" which is very good Ethiopian food located on 750 Santa Fe Drive.
