Denver is known as the Mile High City because it sits exactly 5280 feet above sea level. It is known for it's emerging music scene and fine dining and draws thousands of visitors every January as the host city for the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo. The 2011 Stock Show runs from Jan. 8-23.
Denver, CO is also the "Gateway to the Rockies" and boasts some of the finest year-round outdoor sports and activities anywhere. This is probably why Denver is also considered to have one of the fittest populations in the US.
