  • Detroit, known for being the capital of the American automobile industry and Motown, is a historic, culturally important city that looks south across the Detroit River at Windsor, Ontario. Whether you're in "The Motor City" for business, pleasure, or both, you will find a variety of hotels to choose from. While there are many great options for accommodations in Downtown, you will also find great hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts in Detroit's surrounding neighborhoods.

The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, located in downtown Detroit on Renaissance Drive, is a very large hotel that is popular with travelers who are in Detroit on business. But given its wonderful views of the Detroit River, location (it is part of the Renaissance Center, General Motors' corporate headquarters and car museum, and close to the Ford Field, Joe Louis, and Comerica Park stadiums), and moderate prices, the Marriott is also a great choice for tourists.

Outside of town in Sterling Heights, the Best Western Sterling Inn is a perfect, low to moderately priced option for families. Although it's about 25 minutes from downtown, the Best Western has an indoor water park, fitness center, and comfortable rooms.

The Inn on Ferry Street, located in the East Ferry Street Historic District of Midtown Detroit, is close to Wayne State University and many of Detroit's museums, galleries, and theaters. The Inn comprises what used to be six historic buildings - it boasts 40 unique rooms in four restored Victorian homes and two carriage houses. The Hotel St. Regis is another choice should you decide to stay in Midtown.
