Description:

  • When this once-obscure hole-in-the-wall expanded from a bar and pool room to a big restaurant, it marked the revival of the western portion of Mexicantown. Now Xochimilco is so popular that crowds regularly fill its three dining rooms on the first floor and crowd into second-floor cubicles. Plenty of competitors have opened their doors, but Xochimilco is still the top spot for its dependability. The formula is simple: generous portions of Mexican staples, including tasty guacamole and gargantuan burritos. The price has remained affordable, and people keep coming nightly until 2am for drinks and munchies.

    Good Mexicantown Restaurant in Detroit

  • Had lunch there with a friend, and it was very, very good. The place was packed. I don't drink, but people tell me that the margaritas are dynamite. I would definitely return.
